I received my Bachelor of Science in Education degree from UW-Whitewater with a mathematics education major and physics education minor. I received my Master's Degree in Education Leadership from Silver Lake College.
I have taught in Portage since 1993. Before that, I taught in the Shawano-Gresham district.
I currently teach Physics and Astronomy.
I was named “Most Memorable Teacher” by the senior class four times, received the Walmart Teacher of the Year Award in 1999 and received a school board recognition award in 2006. I am a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), the Planetary Society, and the Skeptics Society.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading (especially mysteries and science fiction), watching classic movies, studying the history and philosophy of science, and collecting comic books.
