(0.5 credits, grades 1112)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Geometry. Algebra II is strongly recommended prior to taking this course but not required.
The objective of this 18 week course is to prepare students for taking the mathematics portion of standardized tests and to prepare for college placement tests. PreAlgebra, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Plane Geometry and Trigonometry will be reviewed. Students will learn helpful testtaking strategies and problemsolving techniques. They will also practice taking multiple choice tests and gain confidence in taking timed math tests. Through practice, this class should help to reduce a student's anxiety toward taking standardized tests and college placement tests. Note: Students will be required to purchase the current edition of "The Real ACT" workbook (approximately $17).
