One of our goals this year at John Muir is to have students read at least 20 minutes in class every day.

Educational research shows that the more a child reads, the better reader they become.  Just this alone can raise test scores!

Therefore, it would be even better for students if they read at home every night as well.

Research says that in order to actually improve their reading, students need to be reading "Just Right" books. Essentially this means the books are neither too easy or too hard.
