DPI released district and school report cards for 2022-2023 this morning.
The Portage Community School District achieved an overall rating of “Meets Expectations” and a numerical score of 63.4 for the 2022-23 report card. Lewiston Elementary achieved an overall rating of “Exceeds Expectations”. Endeavor Elementary, John Muir Elementary, Bartels Middle School, and Portage High School all achieved overall ratings of “Meets Expectations”.
The state report cards for the District and each school are attached to this email. Woodridge and PAA do not have students in a tested cell size large enough to receive a state report card. They must submit an alternate accountability report to DPI each year detailing their achievement and growth.
Our District continues to work toward closing the gaps and increasing student growth. Striving to meet our district strategic plan should close the gaps and increase the performance of all students. If we work together with a focus on each student’s needs, we should see an upward growth trend in our state report card scores.
We would also like to point out a data discrepancy in the participation data for post-secondary preparation and the arts courses in the PHS and District report cards. The discrepancy does not affect our District or High School scores. We are collaborating with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to resolve the coding issues that caused these discrepancies. We value your understanding and patience as we work with DPI in addressing these issues to ensure future reports contain precise participation data.
