The Columbia County Sheriff's Department will be using the Rusch building for training on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 between 1 and 9 PM.
Do not be surprised or alarmed if you notice emergency vehicles and personnel at the school on the 13th as this is a planned training day.
Aviso de entrenamiento: El Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Columbia utilizará el edificio Rusch para un entrenamiento el martes 13 de enero de 2026, entre la 1:00 p. m. y las 9:00 p. m.

Boys & Girls Club Open House
All Portage Area 1st grade students and older and their caregivers are invited to the Boys &
All Portage Area 1st grade students and older and their caregivers are invited to the Boys & Girls Club of West Central Wisconsin's Open House at the Portage club location (117 W Franklin Street, Portage, Wisconsin) on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Activities will include (but are not necessarily limited to) making ice cream sundaes, an indoor snowman making contest with prizes, game room activities and tours of the club.
Please join club members and staff from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on the 15th to find out what the Boys & Girls Club is all about!
Todos los estudiantes de primer grado y mayores del área de Portage, junto con sus cuidadores, están invitados a la jornada de puertas abiertas del Boys & Girls Club of West Central Wisconsin en su sede de Portage (117 W Franklin Street, Portage, Wisconsin) el jueves 15 de enero de 2026.
Las actividades incluirán (entre otras) la preparación de helados, un concurso de construcción de muñecos de nieve en interiores con premios, juegos y recorridos por las instalaciones del club.

PCSD Salute to Service Night, January 23, 2026
The PCSD will be hosting a Salute to Service Night prior to and during the PHS boys varsity
The PCSD will be hosting a Salute to Service Night prior to and during the PHS boys varsity basketball game against Edgewood High School on Friday, January 23, 2026.
All area all veterans, service members, first responders and their families are invited and encouraged to attend.
We will be serving complementary pizza and refreshments for all veterans, service members, and first responders and their families at 6:15 PM in the PHS Commons. Additionally, all veterans, service members, and first responders will receive a free commemorative t-shirt.
There will be a special presentation prior to the game during the National Anthem that will include a large American Flag, as well as flags of the armed forces and local departments. All veterans, service members, and first responders are encouraged to participate in this large flag ceremony during the National Anthem ceremony. *If you would like to be a part of this, please be in attendance no later than 6:45 PM. (National Anthem to occur at approximately 7:10 PM)
During the halftime segment of the game, all veterans, service members, and first responders in attendance will be personally recognized for their selfless service. This will take place at approximately 7:45 PM. All veterans, service members, and first responders will also receive free admission to the basketball game.
Please consider being a part of this special event as a small thank you and appreciation for all you do to serve our nation and communities. We look forward to recognizing you on the 23rd!
