The Student Council is the student government at PHS. The organization has three primary functions:
1) to organize school activities and events, including dances and spirit weeks.
2) to encourage academic success among students.
3) to represent the students' opinions on school policy decisions by regularly meeting with the administration.
Every fall, each class elects representatives to the council. All members help with council activities and keep their classmates involved with council actions and discussions, as outlined in the council constitution. In the course of the year, student council members learn leadership skills, citizenship and initiative.
