You may have heard about the Presidential Fitness Award sometimes given out in gym classes. Did you know that the President also challenges all Americans to earn the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA)? This award focuses on regular exercise and healthy eating.

  • Kids (6-17 years) need to be active 60 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, for 6 out of 8 weeks. As an alternative, you can count your daily activity steps using a pedometer (goal: 12,000).
  • Kids (6-17 years) also add a new healthy eating goal each week. Goals are found on the paper log or on the website.
  • Adults (18+ years) need to be active 30 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, for 6 out of 8 weeks. As an alternative, you can count your daily activity steps using a pedometer (goal: 8,500).
  • Adults (18+ years) also add a new healthy eating goal each week. Goals are found on the paper log or on the website.

After you have completed your six-week lifestyle make over, you can print a certificate, purchase affordable PALA merchandise online, and let everyone know how good you feel!

Check your child’s school office for PALA paper logs, or print them here. Click here to create a personal account online.
