Reading each day and reading a variety of materials is the best way for students to increase their achievement. On Team 8 students are reading novels in class, but also should be reading free-choice fiction and nonfiction books that interest them.
We will be posting some book talks online and commenting on what students on our team are reading. Check out this book discussion wiki at http://gulrud.pbworks.com. Students will need their usernames and passwords to enter.
I also advise the yearbook at the middle school. If you have photos or news you'd like to share, the staff is always interested. I teach on Team 8.
