I grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota, which is a northwest suburb of Minneapolis. My parents and brother still reside there.
I graduated from high school in 1989, then I attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I graduated with a BA in 1993. I completed my reading license in the spring of 2021, and I am in the process of completing my masters degree.
I was a substitute teacher for one year in the Minneapolis area, then moved back to Wisconsin. I was a substitute teacher in Portage for four years before taking a first grade position in Milwaukee for one year.
I returned to the area in 2000 to get married. That same year I began teaching for the Adams-Friendship School District. I taught SAGE for 1st and 3rd for one year, then taught 4th grade for the next six years. I returned to the Portage district in 2007 to teach 2nd grade. I switched to third grade in 2013. I left the classroom and became a reading interventionist in the fall of 2021. I am very excited and passionate about this position, and I am very happy to work with such amazing people and students!
My husband’s name is Victor. He grew up in Portage and graduated from here. We have three children: Emma, Luke, and Max. Emma is in college, and our boys are both in high school. They keep us running and busy!
I love to spend time with family and friends, to play games, to watch my kids play their sports, and to read!
